Welcome Letter from the Program Director

Dr. Jessica Meador, DO, MPH
Greetings from the great state of Oklahoma!
We are excited about your interest in our residency program!
We are a 4-year community-based emergency medicine program located in the heart of Sooner country in Norman, Oklahoma. Our residents receive training in the largest Emergency Department in the OKC metro and are exposed to a wide variety of pathology and acuity. As an unopposed residency, our residents perform an abundance of procedures- the average intern has already completed the four-year requirement for high-index procedures (intubations, central lines, and ultrasounds)before second year.
In addition to emergency medicine, we have an emphasis on ultrasound and emergency medical services. Moonlighting is highly encouraged, and you also have the opportunity to earn a free (yes, COMPLETELY free!) Master’s degree in HealthcareAdministration from Oklahoma State University during residency. Graduates from our program have gone into a wide variety of practice settings and fellowships including EMS, Critical Care, Global Health, Toxicology, Pediatric EM, and Wilderness Medicine.
Norman is a quintessential “university town” (home to the University of Oklahoma) and offers a fantastic art and music scene. OKC is a quick 20-minute drive and has some incredible culinary options, ample shopping, and an easily accessible airport with non-stop flights to several major US cities. Here in Norman, we pride ourselves on our family-friendly, inclusive environment. Residents and attendings often hang out when not working, and I personally consider some of them my closest friends.
Come rotate with us and see for yourself what makes us great!
