We are a 4-year, unopposed, community based, ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine program located in Norman, Oklahoma. We have 6 residents per class for a total of 24 residents in the program at any given time. Our residents serve the greater Norman community and our catchment area includes a large portion of southern Oklahoma. We have an in-house EMS agency, EMSStat, which allows our residents to become well acquainted with pre-hospital medicine during their time with us.

PORTER CAMPUS

Our Porter campus emergency department is a Level III Trauma Center within a 337 bed facility that sees approximately 60,000 visits annually. It is also our Certified Stroke Center. We have capacity for 38 patient beds including our 4 bed fast track. We have 4 large resuscitation/trauma bays and various sized rooms to accommodate different patient acuity levels. This campus typically has between 2-3 residents on shift at any given time with a 1:1 resident to attending ratio.

HEALTHPLEX CAMPUS

Our Healthplex campus emergency department is our Certified Chest Pain Center within a 168 bed facility with specialties covering cardiovascular, orthopedics, pediatrics, obstetrics, and labor and delivery. We have capacity for 20 patient ER beds including our 4 bed fast track. This campus has only one resident on shift at any given time but that resident gets to work closely with two attendings throughout the shift. We are currently expanding the Healthplex campus through the Inspire Health initiative and are hoping to combine all primary emergency services into this campus by 2024.
