Our didactics are once weekly for 4 hours on Thursday mornings. Additionally, we have an hour of independent learning each week to complete the ACGME didactics requirements.

We use a combination of case-based learning and a variety of lecture styles. We have lectures given by core faculty, residents, and guest lecturers. We also utilize the FoundationsEM curriculum and add in hands-on simulation and skills labs to practice procedures and ultrasound. A sample didactic day schedule is shown below.

In addition to weekly didactics, we have journal clubs on the last Wednesday of the month and discuss current articles and research relating to that month’s didactics theme.
